1/2" & 3/4" Special to Print Compression Springs

Engineered Source supplies special springs made to customer prints of all varieties, materials, and sizes.  This particular custom compression spring is US made to 1/2" and 3/4" overall length to meet the customers specific product needs.  Typical lead time on special springs manufactured domestically is 8-10 weeks.

Unslotted Hex Washer Head, Trilobular Thread Forming Special Screw in 410 Stainless Steel

This is a custom trilobular part manufactured in the United States, which we provide to our customer on a annual blanket purchase order basis.  The thread forming screw measures 10-32 X 1/2 and is made using 410 stainless steel, bright hardened and passivated.  Finally the part is then run through the last secondary process of applying a thread sealant.

1/4 X 1/4 Alloy Dowel Pin to Print

Dowel pin specials are a common component of our special fastener offering to manufacturers and this particular part is a 1/4 X 1/4 dowel pin made using alloy steel to print.  Unlike many other fastener parts dowel pins are often more difficult to produce when tight tolerances are required, typically necessitating domestic US manufacturing of the parts.  This is particularly pertinent when working with miniature custom pins.

1" Custom Shaft Collar Made to Print, Stainless Steel with 10/32 Socket

Among the endless special to print fasteners and related parts we provide our customers you will also find custom shaft collars like these.  This particular collar is a one piece 1" part made using stainless steel with a 10/32 socket.  We have it manufactured in large quantities and released based on blanket purchase arrangements to our customer needs.

Custom Unslotted HWH 10/24 X 5.45 Thread Forming Screw in Stainless Steel

Engineered Source has now been providing this special unslotted hex washer head taptite thread forming screw for many years.  Domestically manufactured to print, this custom part measures 10/24 X 5.45 and is made using 302 stainless steel, with stain and wax as the final secondary service to get the parts ship ready.  

Special Niche Nipple Repair Plug

Easily one of the more odd specials we have worked on for a customer, this is the niche nipple repair plug made to a print provided by our long time customer.  Each part is machined individually, making it a fairly expensive item to produce and to tool up for.  Smaller quantities of this type of special part are therefore not financially feasible for most applications.

Modified Truss Self Tapping Special Screw to Print

Some years ago our customer approached us with the task of creating this self piercing screw for a specialized assembly application.  It has since become a consistent item we carry to ensure adequate supply for their need at all times.  The part is a modified truss head self tapping type A screw, with a phillips drive.  Measuring 9-9 X 1-5/8 in length this part is a special screw manufactured to print using 18-8 stainless steel, followed by a passivation process.

Custom Flanged Bronze Bearing

Flanged bronze bearing SAE 841 part made to print as a matching component to the 7/8 X .540 X 3/4-16 socket shoulder bolt.  It's inside diameter is 7/8" and outside diameter measures 1-1/8".  The inside surface area is intended to join with the shoulder of the bolt.

Special Shoulder Bolt To Be Coupled With Bronze Bearing

This custom shoulder bolt was made to print for our customer and measures 7/8 X .540 X 3/4-16.  18-8 stainless steel was used to produce the parts at a domestic US manufacturing plant.  It was intended to work in unison with the flanged bronze bearing manufactured to print for the same customer.  That part is shown in greater detail in the consequent blog post.

3/16 Special to Print Hex Jack Screw

This is a special to print screw manufactured in the United States, with full dimensions at 4/40 X 3/16.  The parts were made using steel material with nickel plating secondary service, as well as nylon patch application per customer's specifications.
