Custom Domestic L Anchor Bolts - ASTM A675 Grade 80

We supplied approximately 450 pieces of these custom domestic L anchor bolts to our construction engineering customer, with full certs.  The parts had to be domestic made using domestic melt material as well in ASTM A675 Grade 80 steel, with plain finish.  1/2-13 thread was incorporated on the 15" long leg, with 13.5" of actual thread - having to cut this length of thread on each piece made the production process significantly slower.  The short leg measured 2".

These are large custom ACME thread studs we supplied our customer in two different lengths: 2 ft 11 inch and 3 ft 5 inch.  Both lengths were fully threaded with 1-1/4" ACME thread.  3 custom tapped heavy hex nuts per piece were supplied with the threaded studs.  Parts were made in the USA and were supplied with material certs.

We had 100 pieces of these custom double thread hardened turnbuckle studs produced for our customer in 4140 steel material, hardened to 45-48 HRC.  Local induction heat hardening was performed at the longer hex key, targeting 53-57 HRC. 3/8-24 UNJF 2A thread was rolled with right hand thread on one side and left hand thread on the other.  Overall length was to be between 10.33" and 10.38", with the unthreaded portion diameter between .345" and .375".

Total production of these custom large grade 5 threaded stud socket bolts was run at approximately 27,000 pieces using grade 5 steel material per SAE J429 with zinc clear finish per ASTM B633 Type III.  Overall length of the bolts was 6" and a .566-.573" socket drive was incorporated on one side.  Core hardness was tested a number of times to confirm Rc25-34 and proof load testing was done at three separate labs to confirm 85,000 psi minimum.  Full certs were provided with the parts.

We had 1,100 pieces of these custom metric dacromet coated u-bolts produced using 42CrMo  material with heat treat hardening.  The part was originally designed to be made using 17-4PH stainless steel material but a number of attempts resulted in multiple failures during bending - the material was too hard and repeatedly snapped as the tool pressed the 90 degree corners.  As a result we switched to the 42CrMo material with heat treat to obtain the required hardness and strength, with a combination of the dacromet coating to achieve the corrosion resistance needed.  Turned out to be a much trickier part than originally anticipated!

Custom Construction Bent Anchors - 1-1/4" by 39.37" In A36 Material

These custom construction bent anchors were manufactured domestically using A36 material with plain finish.  1-1/4" bar stock was used and the threaded portion was turned down to allow for cutting M42 thread.  Overall length was set at 1,000MM or 39.37", with the outside hook measuring 180MM.  Tricky part to bend within tolerance but ended up turning out great.  Two heavy hex nuts and washers per anchor bolt were included with the shipment.

These custom class 12.9 metric aerospace screws with cad plated finish were manufactured domestically using DFARS compliant 4140 alloy steel material per ASTM A108.  1,100 pieces were produced measuring 5M X 0.8MM X 16.15MM +/0.03MM.  6G class thread was rolled and the head incorporated a cold formed socket drive, fine knurl feature, and a .050" diameter through hole.  Parts were run through a cadmium plating process at .0003/.0005" type II, Class 2 per AMS QQ-P-416, followed by non destructive magnetic particle inspection testing per ASTM-E-1444.  Full certs and FAIR was provided with the parts.

These custom 1"-8 grade 5 serrated hex flange nuts were produced at approximately 27,000 pieces, with zinc clear finish per ASTM B633 Type III.  Full certs were provided with the parts to document surface and core hardness, material chemical properties, proof load, and certificate of conformance.  3rd party lab testing was also procured to confirm all factory documentation.  The nuts were required to pass a 72,000 psi min proof load requirement and core hardness of 32 Rc max.  Outside diameter was set at 1.95"-2.00" and overall nut height at .700"-.730".

These custom dual shoulder screws were manufactured domestically using 316 stainless steel material with plain finish for our medical device customer.  M4-0.7 thread was incorporated at the end of the custom screw with a ball point.  Two raised shoulders were incorporated with the outside diameter of both at .153 +/- .005" - the captive areas between the shoulders were set to an outside diameter of .133 +/- .005".  The head measured .270" X .198" with a standard slotted drive.

These custom internally threaded socket head screws were manufactured domestically using 304 stainless steel material with plain finish.  Outside thread was M12-1.75 and the internal thread was set to M8-1.25, threaded all the way through.  10MM X 4MM deep hex socket drive was incorporated with a broach process.  For very high volume production this part would likely be made using a cold headed process instead for the hex drive.
