Special Leveling Threaded Feet With A Rubber Base

We supply our customers with a number of special to print and standard off the shelf levelers like this 1/4-20 threaded part measuring 1-1/2 inches in length and a 2-1/8 inch base diameter.  These levelers can be provided with a number of different materials, finishes, and specific options catering to the customer's project needs.  They are made in the USA and are currently supplied to our customer based on a blanket purchase basis.

Special PVDF 1/16 X .415 Micro Pin

We supply a number of PVDF pin parts like this 1/16 X .415 version to a customer that deals largely with water treatment applications.  Together with a variety of other special hardware parts we supply this special pin on an annual blanket as-released purchase order basis.  We try to maintain a minimum 6 month supply to provide our customer optimal flexibility.

Special 10-16 X 1/2 Phil Pan Hi-Lo In 316 Stainless Steel, Chrome Plated

These parts are manufactured overseas and supplied to our customer on a blanket as-released purchase order basis.  We originally supplied this 10 X 1/2 phil pan hi-lo in plain 316 stainless steel material but at some point our customer needed additional corrosion resistance in their application.  At that point we had our inventory supply barrel plated to the pictured chrome finish and all future imported parts would come in already chrome plated.  Domestic chrome finish, whether barrel plated or individually racked, typically has a much brighter finish than the finish found on large volume imported parts.

Special 1/4-28 Hex Nut With No Chamfer

We supply a long time customer with a few different sizes of this same type of special hex nut in steel zinc.  Their application requires plastic molding that requires minimal or no chamfer on the hex nuts used in order to keep the plastic material from flowing into critical parts of the assembly.  Since large quantities (over 500,000 pieces) are involved we work with factories in Taiwan and China to manufacture the parts.  We then stock approximately 12 months' usage at a time and release to our customer on as-needed basis.

Special 1/72 Hex Machine Screw Nut In 303 Stainless Steel

This is a tiny 1/72 hex machine screw nut we supply to our aerospace customer on a blanket purchase basis.  It is made using 303 stainless steel domestically in the United States and is supplied as passivated by the original manufacturer and separately as passivated by a NADCAP certified facility in Orange County.

Special Washer To Print With Glass Bead Aluminum Oxide Finish

This is one of a number of glass bead finished fastener parts we supply to our long time customer, made using low carbon steel to the following dimensions: .400 inside dimension, .750 outside dimension, and .060 thickness.  The part is manufactured in the United States and sold on a blanket  as-released purchase order basis.  We typically have on hand 6-12 month supply of the part at any one time.

Special Belleville Washer In SAE 1060 Spring Steel

Special washers are a staple category at Engineered Source and we supply our customer base with a wide range of types, sizes, and materials.  This is a special belleville washer made in the United States using SAE 1060 spring steel material and heat treated to 42-48 HRC.  It measures .475 on the inside dimension, .848 on the outside dimension, and .060 in thickness.  20 degree offset angle is used per customer's print specifications.

Special 6/32 X .393 +/-.020 Socket Shoulder Screw in SAE Grade 2 Steel, Black Phos & Nylon Patch

This is a special socket shoulder screw manufactured in the United States using SAE grade 2 steel material with black phosphate finish.  A nylon patch process is run on the parts to finalize them for use in our customer's application.  We carry these parts on a blanket purchase order basis and typically stock 6-12 month supply for our customer's immediate production needs.

Special 5/16-18 X 1-1/4 Hex Shoulder Bolt In Grade 5 Steel

We have been supplying this special hex shoulder bolt to the same customer for over five years, made in the USA using grade 5 steel and zinc plated.  Approximately 12 months of supply is carried at all times and parts are released to our customer as needed based on their production.  Blanket purchases are used on a rotating basis to lock in pricing and ensure adequate supply at all times.

Special 3 Wave Spring Washer

This is a special 3 wave steel spring washer that we have been supplying our customer for a number of years.  We stock an approximately 12-18 month supply of the part and release it throughout the year based on our customer's usage.  We can supply custom spring washers in a countless array of materials, sizes, and dimensional parameters.

Special 6-32 X 3-1/2 Slotted Round Machine Screw in Plain 1022 Carbon Steel

We supply this part to our aerospace/defense customer after having it cadmium or zinc plated, typically at quantities between 1,000 and 3,000 pieces.  This part is made in the USA and is provided with full certs, including DFAR, material, FAIR, and Certificates of Conformance.  Lead time is typically 6-8 weeks from order and if needed an updated drawing can be provided for final approval prior to production start.

Special SAE 863 Bronze Sleeve Bearing

We provide our customer base a number of different bearings and sleeve type bearings like this SAE 863 part.  This part was supplied at a quantity of just over 5,000 pieces and the lead time was approximately 6 weeks.  SAE 863 is a powdered Iron-Copper material that boasts greater strength due to its iron content.

Special Vented 8-32 X 5/8 Socket Head Cap Screw in Invar 36 Material

This part is very much like the 6-32 X 1/4 vented socket cap screw shown in an earlier blog and this special invar part was also purchased by a university student at a relatively small quantity.  In quantities of 20-100 pieces the lead time for special socket cap screws with these parameters is approximately 1-2 weeks, with rush service available upon request.
