Custom Extended Dog Point Set Screws

 

These custom extended dog point set screws were manufactured using 4140 alloy steel material with zinc clear finish.  6-32 thread was rolled at .150" in length and a 1/16" hex socket drive was incorporated.  Overall length measured .45" and the dog point diameter was set to .097 +/- .001".  Production lead time was 12 weeks from confirmed order and full certs were available upon request.

Custom Modified Button Socket Screws - 18-8 Stainless Steel Material

These custom modified button socket screws were made using standard off the shelf M3 X 0.5MM button socket cap screws.  The COTS version was modified to an overall length of 7.24MM, inclusive of the head height. The dog point prior to the radius start was set at a length of .015" and diameter of .090".  At the end of that dog point section the radius was machined at R 0.075.  Lead time for a similar modified part is typically 3-4 weeks from the attainment of the COTS version.

Custom Metric 316L Set Screws - M5-0.8 X 6MM Short Dog Point Socket Set Screws

We ran an order of these custom metric 316L set screws with a short dog point at just 66 pieces using domestic production.  Lead time was relatively short at just 2-3 weeks from confirmed purchase order receipt.  A short .059 dog point was incorporated and a 2.5MM hex socket drive was broached for speed and cost efficiency.  Overall length was set at 2.36 inches and the tolerance on all dimensions was set at +/- .005 inches.  Great detail can be seen in the print included here as a reference.
