We had these custom tapered grade 5 socket head screws produced for our sports product manufacturing customer with black oxide finish. 10-32 2A thread was rolled at a length of .36 +/- .03" and the head height was set to .14". Head diameter was designed for .286" +/- .01" and a 1/8" hex socket drive was cold formed. Our original production batch was sadly lost in transit with Fedex but we were able to push through to get replacement parts manufactured and delivered within 4 weeks to avoid a line shutdown with our customer.

Custom Grade 5 Hex Cap Screws - 5/16-24 X .875 With Black Oxide Finish
We have supplied these custom grade 5 hex cap screws to our customer for well over 10 years. The parts are manufactured domestically, with production runs typically covering 50,000 pieces at a time. The shoulder is critical on these parts, set at .312" in diameter +/- .005" and at 1/4" in length. Head dimensions slightly off the standard for this size and the finish is black oxide and light oil. Together with a number of other parts we supply these custom hex cap screws through revolving annual blanket purchase orders that split up the annual usage to match our customer's seasonality.

Custom Knurled Hardware - Test Knurling Samples For Custom 41L40 Steel Plate Bolts

We noticed that the spec calls out for diamond knurling but realized that probably won't work for the intended purpose, which is to keep the bolt from spinning after being inserted.
