Custom 316L Socket Screws - Tapered M5-0.8 X 18MM

We had 50,000 pcs of these custom 316L socket screws produced domestically for our action sports product customer.  Our goal was to recreate a 70 degree taper on the head profile originally accomplished using a machined secondary process.  The hardness of 316L stainless steel material made this is outcome difficult to achieve using a cold heading process.  After numerous test runs and adjustments the production team was able to achieve the desired result at last.

Charcoal Painted Truss Head Screws - 14-10 X 1-3/4 Type A Sheet Metal Screws In 18-8 Stainless Steel

We supply these charcoal painted truss head screws on a revolving blanket purchase order basis, with annual usage at approximately 100K pieces.  The truss head screws measure 14-10 X 1-3/4 with type A sheet metal screw thread.  The large sharp threads on these screws, combined with the large surface area of the truss head, make these parts very difficult to handle.  Without extra care in packaging, with layers of protection between every 1,000 pcs or so, the painted head gets scratched enough to cause cosmetic issues.

Custom Stainless Captive Screws - 10-32 X 3/4 In 18-8 Stainless Steel

These custom stainless captive screws were made using standard off the shelf 10-32 X 3/4" fully threaded socket cap screws in 18-8 stainless steel material.  The .130-.150" diameter shoulder was turned down leaving approximately 1/4" of thread at the end of the screw.  With a relatively loose tolerance on the shoulder diameter this job was a relative breeze and our internal part number is GM-1104-I.

Custom 52100 Dowel Pins - 7MM X 32MM

These custom 52100 dowel pins were fairly ordinary in dimensional requirements but the material was quite tricky and time intensive to procure.  C-52100 DFARS material per S5452100-22810A specification was used with 91.5 ksi tensile strength.  Heat treatment was performed to achieve hardness of 81-83.5 HRA per customer requirements.  Material certs and a certificate of conformance was provided with the parts and all production processes were done domestically in the USA.

Custom Precision Aluminum Stamped Plates - 6061-T6 Aluminum Material

These custom precision aluminum stamped plates work in combination with a separate custom aluminum plate in a medical device application.  The parts are extremely tight tolerance dimensionally and are clear anodized prior to their final use.  The overall length is set at 2.5" and overall width at its maximum point is set at 1.70".  Thickness is .100 +/- .004".  It took 3 different sample runs to get these parts just right before running full production.

Custom Cross Drilled Thumb Screws - M10-1.25 X 25MM-30MM

These sweet custom cross drilled thumb screws were produced domestically using low carbon steel material with plain finish.  Two different sizes were produced: M10-1.25 X 25MM and M10-1.25 X 30MM.  The head on both sizes measured 15MM in diameter and in height.  The cross drilled holes have a diameter of 6MM with a slight chamfer at each opening.  Typically a thumb screw like this would have knurling around the head but our customer decided to forgo that feature.

Custom Button Flange Socket Cap Screws - 8-32 X .50 In Grade 2 Steel With Nylon Patch

These custom button flange socket cap screws were produced using grade 2 steel material with black oxide finish and nylon patch thread locking feature.  Full 8-32 thread was incorporated and the flange diameter was set at .357" +/-.005".  Head height including the flange was to be at .087" +/-.005" and a 3/32 socket drive was cold headed during the production process.  The blue nylon patch was applied over 180 degrees of the covered threaded section.

Custom Black Painted Screws - Stainless Steel #6 X 1/2" Type A Sheet Metal Screws

We supply these custom black painted screws to our architectural element design and build customer in Los Angeles.  They are 18-8 stainless steel type A sheet metal screws measuring #6-18 X 1/2" that are then stripped of any wax to prepare for the painting process.  The black paint is formulated to match our customer's samples and a satin sheen is incorporated to match that of the paneling they will be used on.  We typically run batches of 30,000 pcs of this specific color and screw, with lead time ranging from 3-5 weeks from initial order confirmation.

Custom Steel T-Bolts With Zinc Clear Finish - 8-32 X 3/4

These custom steel T-bolts were manufactured domestically using medium carbon steel material with zinc clear finish.  8-32 thread was incorporated at a length of 3/4" underneath the head.  The head height is set to .04", head width across the flats at .32", and the width across the rounded sides at .438" +/-.015" max.  Lead time for mass production of a similar part is typically 8-10 weeks from order confirmation.

Custom 17-7PH Springs - C Shaped Aerospace Spring Clips

We supply these tricky custom 17-7PH springs to our aerospace customer - unlike the other compression and extension 17-7PH springs we supply the same customer, these are C shaped with two .165" length oval openings. The material thickness was set to .020" and the outside diameter at .550-.555". The angle between the ends was the more challenging part, set at 130 +/-5 degrees. The oval openings incorporated a full radius on both sides and the width was limited to .062" max. A FAIR and material certs were provided with the parts.
