Custom Automotive 12-Point Flange Bolts With Zinc Flake Finish

 

We had these custom automotive 12-point flange bolts manufactured in grade 8 material (4140 alloy steel) with both low head and high head options.  1/2-13 2A thread was rolled on both version slightly undersized to allow for coating thickness of the Geomet zinc flake + top coat and black sealant.  Prior versions of the bolts our automotive customer used were experiencing failures from the hydrogen embrittlement resulting from the use of black zinc electroplating - black Geomet zinc flake coating was used to eliminate this risk and increase corrosion resistance at the same time.

Custom Stainless Steel Socket Shoulder Bolts

 

These custom stainless steel socket shoulder bolts were manufactured using 18-8 stainless steel material with factory passivation finish.  The head was fully cold formed, which took multiple tooling iterations to get just right.  1/4-20 2A thread was rolled at a length of .575" underneath the .305-.311" diameter shoulder.  A .190" across the flats hex socket drive was incorporated at a depth of .120" min.  Certs were made available to our customer's specifications.

Custom Stainless Steel Step Down Precision Pins

 

We provided these custom stainless steel step down precision pins to our utilities customer.  It took a few iterations of the design and specifications to dial in the drawing and we then produced these parts using 18-8 stainless steel material with plain finish.  Prior to our production our customer was manually assembling this part using the 3 individual components and we eliminated that cumbersome process by providing a single fully machined version.

Custom Airframe Double Thread 17-4PH Precision Pins

 We had 4 different size variations of these custom airframe double thread 17-4PH precision pins manufactured for our aerospace and defense customer, with all production done domestically in the USA and the raw material DFARS compliant.  A combination of M6 X 1.0 and 10-32 UNJF rolled thread was required for each variation.  Lead time was the biggest challenge on these parts due to the rolled thread requirement and heat treat process but we managed to have all 4 parts completed within the requested timeframe.  Full certs were provided with the parts including a FAIR.

Custom Tamperproof NAS1352 Socket Head Pin-in Screws

 

Our aerospace customer needed NAS1352N04-06 socket head screws for their assembly but with a tamperproof pin-in socket head, which is not readily available off the shelf.  We had the pictured custom tamperproof version of this NAS1352 screw manufactured domestically to fully comply with the NAS specification using DFARS compliant material, with of-course the exception of the drive type.  Parts measured 4-40 X .375" and full certs were provided with the parts.

Custom DFARS A286 Aerospace NAS Socket Head Bolts

 

These custom DFARS compliant NAS1352N4LE16S socket head bolts were manufactured domestically for our aerospace customer using A286 stainless steel material from France.  They measured 1/4-20 X 1" and were finished with AMS2411 Rev J silver flash plating and bake, as well as thread locking patch.  Certification with mechanical testing performed per FF-S-86 specification were absolutely critical on these parts and were included together with material certs, passivation certs, and plating certs.

Custom Metric Stainless Hex Male-Female Standoffs

 These custom metric stainless steel male/female hex standoffs were manufactured using 304 stainless steel material at 8MM across the flats on the hex.  M5-0.8 thread (6g thread fit) was incorporated on the male end at a length of 13MM and on the female side at an engagement depth of 12.7MM.  Parts were provided with factory passivation and material certs.  

Custom A286 Stainless Steel Castle Nuts

 

These are DFARS compliant custom A286 stainless steel castle nuts manufactured domestically in the USA for our aerospace customer.  They incorporate 7/16-26 2A thread and internal diameter of .328 +/- .005".  The cross slots measure .090 +/-.005" and unthreaded shoulders both measuring .394"+0.000/-.004 in diameter by .063" +/-.01.  Full certs including a FAIR are required as a part of the deliverable package.

Custom 316 Stainless Round Head Shoulder Wood Screws

 

These custom round head shoulder wood screws were manufactured at 10,000 pieces using 316 stainless steel material with plain finish.  The head/shoulder combination was cold headed and the thread rolled.  Shoulder dimensions were 3.8-4.0mm diameter by 5.5mm minimum in length, with the rolled thread at 15.88mm min usable thread.  It's round head was specified to 7.5mm-8.0mm diameter and 2.75mm-3.05mm height.  Material certs were supplied with the parts.

Custom 420 Stainless Precision Machined Components

 

These custom 420 stainless steel precision machined components were manufactured for our aerospace customer, with initial samples produced using 18-8 stainless steel for functional testing prior to full production.  Overall length was .804 +/- .005" and the flange outer diameter was set to .396" +/-.005".  Four drilled holes were incorporated at a diameter of .120" +/-.005".  Full certs with a FAIR were incorporated into the production order requirements per customer request.

Custom Hex Head Shoulder Wood Screws - Steel Zinc

 

These custom hex head shoulder wood screws were manufactured using mild carbon steel material with Zinc clear finish to our customers drawing.  The shoulder measures .180-.188" by .302-.322" in length, square to the rolled thread transition.  Thread length was set to .585-.645" and the hex head measured .244-.250" across the flats and .096-.115" in height.  Cold heading was used for the production process with turning down the threaded area prior to thread roll.

Custom Precision Machined A286 Stainless Sleeve

These custom precision machined A286 stainless steel sleeve components are manufactured domestically for an aerospace application.  Overall length is 1.5" and the sleeve incorporates 1/2-20 2A male thread and 5/16-24 2B female thread at a depth of .512".  A number of precision shoulder steps are designed into the exterior and interior of the components.  FAIR and full certs are made available with the production per customer requirements and initial fit and function test parts were manufactured using 18-8 stainless steel material. 

Custom Low Profile Serrated Flange Nuts With Dacromet Finish

 

We had tens of thousands of these custom low profile serrated flange nuts manufactured for our construction customer using Grade 5 steel material with Dacromet zinc flake finish.  1"-8 thread was tapped with 2B thread fit prior to plating and the low profile height was set to .437" max.  Flange diameter was set to 1.46-1.50", which is to standard 1" diameter flange nut specifications.  Full certs were provided with the parts, including 3rd party testing results for proof load, tensile strength, core hardness, and raw material composition.

Custom 316 Stainless Double Thread Studs - Left Hand & Right Hand

 These custom 316 double thread studs were manufactured domestically using 316 stainless steel material, with a combination of 1/4-28 right hand thread, 1/4-28 left hand thread, 3/8-24 right hand thread, and 10-32 right hand thread with specific tight tolerance machined shoulders specified for each part.  Material certs and certificate of conformance were provided with the parts and the thread was cut rather than rolled for these parts to allow a quicker turnaround.

Custom 18-8 Stainless Steel Self Drilling Screws - #3 Point

 

We had slightly over 150,000 pieces of these custom 18-8 stainless steel self drilling screws manufactured for our construction customer.  The drill screws measured 1/4 X 1-1/2 with an undercut flat head and a #3 drill point.  Most off-the-shelf versions are either available in 410 stainless steel or carbon steel material while our customer specifically needed 18-8 stainless steel composition.  Full certs were available with the parts.

Custom Precision Drilled Hex Nuts - 5-40 Thread

 

These custom precision drilled hex nuts were manufactured domestically in the USA using DFARS compliant 303 stainless steel material with NADCAP certified passivation per AMS QQ-P-35.  Internal 5-40 2B thread fit was incorporated and two corners drilled at a .026 +/- .005" diameter.  Outside dimensions are 7/32" across the flats and .244" across corners.  Full paperwork was provided with the parts.

Custom 17-4 Stainless Steel Shoulder Screws

 

These custom 17-4 stainless steel shoulder screws were manufactured using DFARS compliant material for our defense customer, with MIL-DTL-13924D black oxide finish and heat treat to condition 1025.  M3 X 0.50 thread was incorporated at a length of 4.06MM and the shoulder measured 3MM in diameter by 24.5MM.  The head incorporated an aggressive diamond knurl and a broached 6-lobe drive.  Full certs with a FAIR were provided with the parts.

Custom Class 10.9 Socket Head Bolts - #6-48 Thread

 

These custom class 10.9 socket head bolts were manufactured for our gun accessory manufacturing customer with commercial black oxide finish.  The rolled #6-48 thread length was set to 3.5MM +/-0.3MM and the head height to 2.28MM +/-0.2MM.  Head diameter measured at 5.05MM +/-0.12MM with a cold formed 2.38-2.41MM hex socket drive.  Full certs were available with the parts.  

Domestic Custom Sharp Point Wood Screws - Hex Washer Head

 

These custom sharp point wood screws were manufactured domestically using case hardened steel material with zinc bake and yellow finish.  A high hex washer head was incorporated without serrations and full #12-11 thread at 1-3/4" in length under the head.  A narrow angle was incorporated for the point that together with a type 17 feature created an extra sharp point to allow for automated feeder systems in our customer's application.  Full certs were available with the parts and a Blanket PO Arrangement was used to spread out the usage over a 12 month period.

Custom Hex Flange Bolts - Grade 5 Zinc Plated

 

We had slightly over 100,000 pieces of these serrated custom hex flange bolts manufactured for our construction customer to their drawing specifications and tolerances.  They were manufactured per SAE J429 Grade 5 requirements with Zinc Clear finish per ASTM B633.  Flange OD was set to .68" and across the flats dimension to .489-.500".  The screws were fully threaded with 5/16-18 2a thread at 2-1/2" in length.  Full certs were provided including 3rd party testing for proof load, hardness, and chemical composition requirements.

Custom Tapered Dowel Pins In 303 Stainless Steel

 

We had 50,000 pieces of these custom tapered dowel pins manufactured using 303 stainless steel material for our automotive component manufacturing customer.  Overall length was set to 12.56mm +/- 0.3mm and the diameter measured 4mm +.05mm/-.10mm.  The tapered point was machined to a 54 +/- degree angle.  Full certs were provided with the parts per our customer requirements.

Custom Precision Adapter Dowel Pins - 4140 Alloy Steel

 

These custom precision adapter dowel pins were manufactured for our defense customer using 4140 alloy steel material with Rc 38-42 hardness with plain finish.  Production was done in the USA and the pins measured .10800" +/- .00025" in diameter and .375" +/-.010" in overall length.  Full certs were provided with the parts per customer's instructions.

Custom Grade 5 3/4-10 Socket Head Flat Point Set Screws

 

We had approximately 6,000 of these custom 3/4-10 X 5 SAE J995 grade 5 socket head flat point set screws manufactured for our construction customer with zinc clear finish.  Overall length was set to 4.97-5.03" and the 3/8 hex drive was cold formed to a minimum depth of .375".  Lab tests were performed to confirm proof load of 85,000 psi min while maintaining core hardness of Rc 25-34.  Full certs were provided with the parts.

Custom Precision 304 Stainless Steel Small Dowel Pins

 

We had approximately 150,000 pieces of these small precision 304 stainless steel dowel pins manufactured for our customer with split scheduled releases.  The pins measured 2.93-3.42MM in overall length with a diameter of 2.390MM +0/-.002.  Slight 0.25MM radius was applied on both sides to complete the parts.  Commercial passivation was performed prior to sorting of the parts and material certs were provided with the parts, as well as our certificate of conformance.

Custom Precision Step Pins in 303 Stainless Steel

 

These custom precision step pins were manufactured domestically in the USA using 303 stainless steel material per ASTM A581, with the raw material comprising of 3/16" round USA melt bar stock.  The outside diameter is .031" +/- .002" for the extended pin and .125" +.0005/-.0000 for the main body.  Overall length was set to .313" and a 45 degree chamfer was incorporated on both sides of the .125" diameter portion.  Full certs were provided with the parts for our customer in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Custom Precision Tapered Pins In DFARS Stainless Steel Material

 

We supplied our aerospace customer with these custom precision tapered pins in DFARS stainless steel material, with production done domestically.  The pins were produced to an overall length of 0.765" and tapered from .125" max to .110" on the narrower end.  A .020" wide slot was incorporated at a depth of .135".  Full certs were provided with the parts per customer requirements. 

Custom Metric Shoulder Bolts - 304 Stainless Steel

 These custom metric shoulder bolts were manufactured using 304 stainless steel material with the head cold formed and shoulder machined to a diameter of 11.965-11.938mm by 80mm in length, with 16mm of M10 X 1.5 6g thread after the relief.  The knurled socket head incorporated a 6MM hex socket drive.  Material certs and a certificate of conformance was provided with the parts.

Custom Slotted Pins - DFARS Stainless Steel

 

We had these custom slotted pins manufactured domestically for our aerospace customer using DFARS compliant 303 stainless steel material.  The pins measure .094" in diameter and .35" in overall length, with the slot at .020" in width by .115" in depth.  The outside profile tapered from .094" diameter max to .088" at the narrow side.  Full certs were provided with the parts.

Custom Flat Stamped Nuts - M8-1.25 Thread

 

We had slightly over 10,000 pieces of the custom flat stamped nuts manufactured using mild steel material with zinc clear finish.  Outside dimensions measured 22.86mm X 16mm with thickness set to 6mm.  M8-1.25 6h thread was tapped with its center approximately 5.6mm from the edge of the nut.  6mm is probably the maximum thickness to allow stamping for this size nut without exhibiting too much variation in thickness along the profile.

Custom Precision Cam Nuts - Mild Steel With Zinc Plating

 

We had 12,000 pieces of these large custom precision cam nuts manufactured in mild steel for our construction component manufacturer.  Overall length measured 91.7MM and max OD at the base was set to 23.88MM.  M8 X 1.25 6g thread was incorporated on both sides and M12 X 1.75 6h thread was tapped in the center of the base.  Both shoulders were tuned to a 13.37-13.48MM diameter.  Material certs and certificate of conformance was provided with the parts.

Custom Bent Steel Zinc Washers - Mild Steel With Zinc Plating

 

These custom bent steel zinc washers were manufactured for our specialty OEM manufacturer using mild steel ranging in thickness from 1.8-2.0MM - the edges of the bent washer are actually used to clamp down the assembly so the thickness had to be just right to allow the application of the needed force without flattening out.  The top level dimensions of the rectangular shape are 23.7 X 44.8MM with a +/-.5MM tolerance and the inside drilled hole measures 8.5MM in diameter.  The outside height of the component is set to 7.34MM.  A simple part but it took us 3 sets of samples and tooling variations to get it to perform exactly as required. 

Custom Bent J-Bolts With Drilled Hole - 18-8 Stainless Steel

 

These custom bent j-bolts with drilled hole were manufactured domestically using 18-8 stainless steel material with plain finish.  3/8-16 Thread was incorporated at a length of 1.25" and the distance center to center between the legs was set to 1.38" +/- 1/16".  Inside length at the long let was 2.25".  Material certs were included with the parts per customer's requirements.

Custom Nickel Plated Brass Standoffs - Hex Male/Female

 

We had these custom nickel plated brass standoffs manufactured for our electronic instrumentation manufacturing customer.  4MM hex brass material was used for the production and 5MM of male thread and 6MM of internal female thread was incorporated per print.  Hex standoff length was set to 21MM.  Both internal and male thread was 4-40.  

Custom 12 Point Flange Bolts With Internal 3/8-16 Thread

 

We supplied these custom 12 point flange bolts to our automotive customer at 5,000 pieces per size, with size ranging from 12.6MM shoulder diameter X 1.70" to 12.6MM shoulder diameter X 3.2".  4140 alloy steel material was used for the production with heat treatment to reach 39-45HRC hardness.  Black oxide finish was the last step in the production process.  3/8-16 internal thread was tapped on all size configurations to reach a minimum of 18MM in full thread depth.

Custom Aluminum Diecast Fittings - ADC12 Aluminum Alloy

 

These custom trim aluminum diecast fittings for our lighting fixture customer were manufactured using ADC12 Aluminum Alloy material with plain finish.  Overall diameter measured 5.75" and the inside opening diameter measured 2.55".  2,500 pieces were produced in the first production run and a small partial was provided prior to the full balance.  Annual blanket purchase agreements are ideal for this type of part due to the space and cash output required to bring in the full amount in one shipment - we would instead spread out the annual usage over 12 months and invoice as parts are shipped out.

Custom 17-4PH Precision Dowel Pins With Spherical Points

 

We supplied our customer that manufactures fire pump equipment with these custom 17-4ph precision dowel pins using 100% domestic production with DFARS compliant raw material and full certs - material certs, heat treat certs, and a certificate of conformance.  The pins were produced to a diameter of .1249-.1251" and overall length of .670-.675" with equal spherical radii on both sides.  Parts went through heat treatment to achieve the Rc36 hardness minimum requirement.
