We supplied our defense customer with these custom 4140 precision 10-24 nuts after getting an initial sample run completed and tested. Tight tolerances were required on these parts, with most dimensions at +.000/-.005 or +.000/-.003 inches. Overall thickness of the nuts was set at .155" and 10-24 class 2B thread tapped all the way through. Full production of this part was at 20,000 pieces and lead time at approximately 75-90 days from order confirmation.
Large quantities of these custom made parts would be best supplied on a 12 month blanket purchase order basis. The Blanket Order concept allows the customer to access the large quantity cost savings without paying upfront for the entire large quantity order. Instead we take on the burden of carrying the bulk inventory and only release the parts as needed, or often on a pre-scheduled basis provided by the customer.
