We supplied our automotive manufacturing customer these custom hardened dowel pins in SAE 52100 steel material, heat treated to reach 81.0 - 83.5 HRA. The diameter was ground to 7.000MM +/- .005MM and the length was set to 32.0MM +/- 0.2MM. The pins were manufactured domestically in the USA and full certs were provided with the shipment.
Large quantities of these custom made precision automotive pins would be best supplied on a 12 month blanket purchase order basis. The Blanket Order concept allows the customer to access the large quantity cost savings without paying upfront for the entire large quantity order. Instead we take on the burden of carrying the bulk inventory and only release the parts as needed, or often on a pre-scheduled basis provided by the customer.
