Special 3 Wave Spring Washer

This is a special 3 wave steel spring washer that we have been supplying our customer for a number of years.  We stock an approximately 12-18 month supply of the part and release it throughout the year based on our customer's usage.  We can supply custom spring washers in a countless array of materials, sizes, and dimensional parameters.

Special 6-32 X 3-1/2 Slotted Round Machine Screw in Plain 1022 Carbon Steel

We supply this part to our aerospace/defense customer after having it cadmium or zinc plated, typically at quantities between 1,000 and 3,000 pieces.  This part is made in the USA and is provided with full certs, including DFAR, material, FAIR, and Certificates of Conformance.  Lead time is typically 6-8 weeks from order and if needed an updated drawing can be provided for final approval prior to production start.

Special SAE 863 Bronze Sleeve Bearing

We provide our customer base a number of different bearings and sleeve type bearings like this SAE 863 part.  This part was supplied at a quantity of just over 5,000 pieces and the lead time was approximately 6 weeks.  SAE 863 is a powdered Iron-Copper material that boasts greater strength due to its iron content.

Special Vented 8-32 X 5/8 Socket Head Cap Screw in Invar 36 Material

This part is very much like the 6-32 X 1/4 vented socket cap screw shown in an earlier blog and this special invar part was also purchased by a university student at a relatively small quantity.  In quantities of 20-100 pieces the lead time for special socket cap screws with these parameters is approximately 1-2 weeks, with rush service available upon request.

Chrome Plated 316 Stainless Steel 6-18 X 3/4 Phillips Flat Sheet Metal Screw

Engineered Source offers a variety of secondary services for both standard and special fasteners, with additional detail available at http://www.engineeredsource.com/customized-special-fastener-supplier-orange-county-ca-s/108.htm.  Chrome plating is typically done either in barrel form for larger quantities or by individually hanging the fasteners, which is significantly more expensive.  For parts that serve a critical aesthetic function, like screws on musical instruments, individual plating is preferred to limit the imperfections.  Barrel based chrome plating however is typically the ideal scenario for applications where cost and corrosion resistance are relatively more important than the aesthetics of the parts.  These chrome plated 316 stainless steel (easy to distinguish with the stamped dot at the flat head to designate the 316) sheet metal screws were barrel plated at approximately 30,000 pieces.  We stock these parts for our customer on a blanket purchase basis and release as needed throughout the year.

This is a special 6535AX coupling nut made for our aerospace customer to print using aluminum material.  Physical and chemical material certs are provided with the parts and they are produced domestically within the United States.  We stock this recurring part for our customer and release the parts as needed throughout the year.

This is a small 4-40 X 5/16 special copper machine screw supplied at just 100 pieces.  Small quantity special fastener orders like this are a daily routine for us and we can supply specials to print in just about any material.  Copper 110 material was used on this specific part and we were able to deliver the parts to our customer within 10 business days from order.

Special "Shim" Washers In 302 Stainless Steel

Engineered Source Inc supplies its customer base an almost endless variety of special washers, from 302 & 304 stainless steel material to Teflon and everything in between.  This specific "shim" washer is made using 302 stainless steel and has dimensions of 2.198 ID, 2.647 OD, .018 TH with tolerance of +/- .010 on the OD and ID and +/- .001 for the thickness.  Special washers, like most other special fastener parts we supply, are typically ordered on a blanket purchase order basis with scheduled or as-needed releases.
