Custom Modified Socket Cap Screws - 2-56 X .745 With Machined Groove
In getting these custom modified socket cap screws made we started with standard off the shelf 2-56 X 3/4" socket cap screws in 18-8 stainless steel material - our customer required the length to be cut and chamfered down to .745" and a groove to be added 1/8" from the point. The groove measured .052" to .054" in diameter and .061 to .071" in length. Both modifications were relatively simple and we were able to get the parts ready within 2-3 weeks from purchase order placement.

Custom Painted Rivets - 1/8 Blind Rivets In Color Matched Green
Our customer requested us to match the color of the roofing material for these custom painted rivets. The color is a shade of dark green and the customer specifically wanted us to paint both sides of the rivet - this is very unusual, with only the visible side typically painted since the blind side is never visible after the rivets are installed. This dual application required 2 separate paint applications to accomplish the end result, with a strip process completed prior to paint to ensure there was no wax present on the surface. Any wax present on the surface would result in flaking or peeling of the paint within days of the completed process.

Custom Vented Titanium Screws - 2-56 X 7/8 Socket Cap Screws In Grade 5 Titanium Material, Vented
We supplied these custom vented titanium screws to our aerospace customer. Parts were made domestically in the USA using ASTM B348 Grade 5 material and measured 2-56 X 7/8". The vent hole has a diameter of .028 inches. Lead time for similar parts is typically 8-10 weeks but expedited options are typically available upon request. Our internal part number for this vented screw is SC-002014-UVENT. Material certs were provided with the parts, as well as our certificate of conformance.

Custom 316 Stainless Sealing Washers - Neoprene Bonded Sealing Washers In 316 Stainless Steel Material
We supply these custom 316 stainless sealing washers on a recurring blanket purchase order basis. They measure 7/8" on the inside diameter, 1-1/2" on the outside diameter, and an overall nominal thickness of .101". Dimensionally this sealing washer is relatively common in the market but only in 18-8 stainless steel or steel zinc material. Our customer's application required the use of 316 stainless steel, which necessitated the custom production run. We typically run production at 12,000 piece increments and release partials to our customer on an as-needed basis over the 12 month blanket period.

Custom Titanium Dowel Pins - 1/16 X 1/4 OAL
These custom titanium dowel pins were manufactured domestically using ASTM B348 Grade 5 material. Our customer was a US University based physics research facility and per their request a material certificate with a certificate of conformance was provided with the parts. The 1/16 diameter had a tolerance of +/- .005.

Custom Vented Screws In Invar 36 Material - 8-32 X 5/8 And 6-32 X 1/4
Both of these custom vented screws are recurring parts for a research lab we work with. Measuring 8-32 X 5/8 and 6-32 X 1/4 both are made using Invar 36 material with a vent drilled hole running the full length of the screw. Invar 36 material has a very low level of thermal expansion and is typically used for applications where dimensional changes due to temperature variation must be minimized as much as possible. The hex socket drive was broached for both parts, in lieu of a cold headed alternative.

Modified Steel Coupling Nuts - 5/8-11 Internal Thread And 1" Across The Flats At 3.13" Overall Length
Our customer requested these modified steel coupling nuts in plain steel finish and at just 56 pieces. We began with an off-the-shelf coupling nut measuring 5/8-11 for the internal thread, 1" across the flats, and 3.13" in overall length. Material was grade 5 plain steel. Our customers drawing specifications required the internal cavity to be machined to a .65" diameter opening at 1" in depth for both sides, leaving approximately 1.13" of internal 5/8-11 thread in the middle for the mating part to engage. Overall a relatively simple process completed within 1 week of order confirmation.

Custom V Bolts In Steel Zinc Material - 8-32 Thread
These are 8-32 custom V bolts we had domestically produced for our customer. Initially 12 pieces were run for prototype testing purposes prior to full production order. The inside length to the bottom of the V is 1" and .625" between the legs. 0.6" of 8-32 thread is incorporated on both legs. One thing to note with this type of bent part is that the threaded areas are clamped during the bending process - at minimum this results in a small visual dent in the threads and at worst, if over clamped the thread can be damaged to the point of creating issues running the mating parts. We carefully inspect the parts to make sure this latter issue is avoided. Unfortunately, there is no way to completely avoid grabbing on to the threaded areas for mass production that we have seem, without of-course limiting the amount of thread on each leg.

Light Brown Painted Button Socket Screws - 6/32 X 5/16 Tamper Proof Security Screws & Standard Socket Cap Screws
Our customer requested these light brown painted button socket screws in batches of approximately 2,500 pcs of both the security screw version and the standard button socket version. Pin-in button socket drive was used for the security screw and both parts measured 6-32 X 5/16. Alloy steel with thermal black oxide was used for the base part material, and the security screws had a wax coating that required stripping prior to the paint application. Painting the screws without this stripping process would result in a good looking part until you actually tried to use them, at which point the paint easily chips and peels off the surface. Unfortunately it's often difficult to discern whether the part has this wax coating or not, requiring a sample test run to be sure.
