Custom Automotive Ball Studs In Grade 5 Steel With Zinc Yellow Finish

We had 15,000 pieces of these custom automotive ball studs produced in 1215 medium carbon steel material with heat treatment to achieve 25-34 HRC hardness.  10-32 thread (2A fit) was rolled for these parts and the hex was made to .311" across the flats.  Overall length of the part measured .815" and the ball diameter was set to .25".  

Custom 6-Lobe Socket Head Screws - 4140 Alloy Steel Material

These custom 6-lobe socket head screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treat to 42-47 HRC.  2A 6-48 UNS thread was incorporated with thread length at .375".  T15 6-lobe drive was cold formed and the thread rolled.  This part is almost identical with the .200" length version discussed in an earlier post.  Full certs were provided with the parts per our customer's requirements.  

Custom Lag Thread Bent Anchors - Steel Zinc Material

These custom lag thread bent anchors were manufactured for a woodworking company in Hawaii that required lag screw thread on the long leg and a cosmetically appealing zinc clear finish.  CD-C1018 material was used at a 1/4" in diameter, with a 90 degree bend.  The short leg measured 3/4" in length on the inside and the long leg at 5" overall including the 3/4" of lag screw thread.  All production was done domestically on these parts for the fastest turnaround.

Custom Black Thumb Screws - Knurled 6-32 X 3/8

These custom black thumb screws with diamond knurl were manufactured to our customer's drawing at 2,000 pieces using low carbon steel material with black oxide finish.  The head diameter is set to .313" +/- .005" and the thread length is .375" with the same tolerance.  6-32 thread was rolled rather than cut on these parts.  Full certs were provided with the parts.

Custom 4037 Alloy Steel Flat Socket Head Screws With Cadmium Plating

We had 5,000 pcs of these custom 4037 alloy steel flat socket head screws produced in the USA for our aerospace customer.  ASTM A574 4037 material was used for the production and the cadmium plating was dome per AMS-QQ-P-416A TYpe II, with thickness at 0.0005-.0008".  Heat treat was performed to get the hardness of the parts to Rc 41-45.  The socket drive was cold formed and the thread rolled, both at the same facility.  Full certs were provided with the parts per our customer's requirements.

Custom Torx 6-48 Socket Head Screws - 4140 Alloy Steel Material

These custom torx 6-48 socket head cap screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treat to 42-47 HRC.  2A 6-48 UNS thread was incorporated with thread length at .200".  T15 6-lobe drive was cold formed and the thread rolled.  Full certs were provided with the parts per our customer's requirements.  

Custom Domestic L Anchor Bolts - ASTM A675 Grade 80

We supplied approximately 450 pieces of these custom domestic L anchor bolts to our construction engineering customer, with full certs.  The parts had to be domestic made using domestic melt material as well in ASTM A675 Grade 80 steel, with plain finish.  1/2-13 thread was incorporated on the 15" long leg, with 13.5" of actual thread - having to cut this length of thread on each piece made the production process significantly slower.  The short leg measured 2".

Custom ACME Thread Studs - 1-1/4" in A108 Steel Material

These are large custom ACME thread studs we supplied our customer in two different lengths: 2 ft 11 inch and 3 ft 5 inch.  Both lengths were fully threaded with 1-1/4" ACME thread.  3 custom tapped heavy hex nuts per piece were supplied with the threaded studs.  Parts were made in the USA and were supplied with material certs.

Custom Double Thread Hardened Turnbuckle Studs - 4140 Steel Material

We had 100 pieces of these custom double thread hardened turnbuckle studs produced for our customer in 4140 steel material, hardened to 45-48 HRC.  Local induction heat hardening was performed at the longer hex key, targeting 53-57 HRC. 3/8-24 UNJF 2A thread was rolled with right hand thread on one side and left hand thread on the other.  Overall length was to be between 10.33" and 10.38", with the unthreaded portion diameter between .345" and .375".

Custom Large Grade 5 Threaded Stud Socket Bolts - 1"-8 Thread With Zinc Clear Finish

Total production of these custom large grade 5 threaded stud socket bolts was run at approximately 27,000 pieces using grade 5 steel material per SAE J429 with zinc clear finish per ASTM B633 Type III.  Overall length of the bolts was 6" and a .566-.573" socket drive was incorporated on one side.  Core hardness was tested a number of times to confirm Rc25-34 and proof load testing was done at three separate labs to confirm 85,000 psi minimum.  Full certs were provided with the parts.
