Custom Stainless Steel Fully Threaded Lag Screws

 

We had 10,000 pieces of each size of these custom stainless steel fully threaded lag screws supplied to our construction customer.  304 stainless steel material was used and the parts were manufactured to ASME B18.2.1 other than the full thread feature requirement.  Tensile strength was required to surpass the minimum 90,000 psi requirement and both the material composition and the tensile strength (axial) were tested at a third party lab with full certs.  The two sizes pictured here are the 3/8-7 X 4" and 3/8-7 X 5.5".  The finish on both sizes is Geomet 321 with Plus L top coat.

Custom Long Stainless Steel Dowel Pins - 303 Stainless Steel

 

These custom long stainless steel dowel pins were manufacture domestically using 303 stainless steel material.  The diameter was set to 2.002mm to 2.008mm and the length was set to 100mm +/-.01mm.  Full certs were provided with the parts and thorough QC testing was done on the straightness.

Custom Double Thread Lag Screws - 1/2 X 10.75"

 

Production of these custom double thread lag screws for our construction customer was run in batches of 50,000 pieces using medium carbon steel material with zinc + clear finish.  Overall length measured 10.75" +/- 0.20" and 1/2-6 lag screw thread was incorporated at one side, with the other side using rolled 1/2-13 thread.  Approximately 5.5" of lag thread was designed into the part and 1.2" of the machine screw thread.  The crimped shoulder was set to a height of .37" +/-.02" and a length of .625" to allow use of a wrench during the application.  

Grade 12.9 Custom Shoulder Bolts - Metric With Plain Finish

We supplied these Class 12.9 custom shoulder bolts to our aftermarket automotive OEM customer.  The shoulder measures M8 X M6 and the thread is set to M6 X 1.0.  Production typically runs in batches of 10,000 pieces per run and the finish is thermal black oxide.  Full certs are available with the parts upon request.

Custom Hardened Dowel Pins - SAE 52100 Steel Material

 

We supplied our automotive manufacturing customer these custom hardened dowel pins in SAE 52100 steel material, heat treated to reach 81.0 - 83.5 HRA.  The diameter was ground to 7.000MM +/- .005MM and the length was set to 32.0MM +/- 0.2MM.  The pins were manufactured domestically in the USA and full certs were provided with the shipment.  

Custom Long Socket Head Machine Screws - 8-32 & 8-36 Thread In 4140 Alloy Steel

 

These custom long socket head machine screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treatment to reach 37-44 Rc hardness.  Two sizes were produced together in this run: 8-32 X 5.43" length with thread length of 5/8" and 8-36 (an odd thread pitch requested for this one) X 6-3/8" with the same 5/8" thread length requirement.  The thread was cut rather than rolled for these parts and the hex drive was broached.  

Custom Large B7 Threaded Studs - 1-1/5 X 6-1/4" With Zinc Clear Finish

 

We had 64 pieces of these custom large B7 threaded studs manufactured for our customer, with the cut and chamfer of the plain parts done domestically followed by commercial zinc + clear plating operation.  The threaded studs measured 1-1/5 - 8 X 6-1/4 and were supplied with ASTM A194 2H heavy hex nuts.  The cut and chamfer operation was relatively easy and quick but the zinc plating process took approximately 2 weeks to complete.  Rush processing is available if a quicker turnaround is ever required.

Custom Automotive Ball Studs - 1215 Steel, Zinc Yellow

 We had 20,000 pieces of these custom automotive ball studs produced in 1215 steel material with heat treat hardening to 25-34 HRC and zinc yellow finish.  The across the flats dimension on this ball stad was relatively large compared with the .25" ball diameter, measuring .437 +/-.01".  Overall length measured .950" with the 1/4-28 thread taking up approximately .423".  

Custom Grade 5 Lug Nuts - 5/16-24 Thread

 

We supplied approximately 21,000 pieces of these custom grade 5 lug nuts to our customer, manufactured using medium carbon steel material with zinc clear finish.  Blue thread lock patch was applied at 360 degrees across the length of internal thread per customer specifications.  An 82 degree angle was maintained at the cone side and .500" width across the flats.  Overall length (height) of the lug nut was also set to .500".  Full certs were available with the parts.

Custom 316 Stainless Steel Button Head Screws - Metric

These custom 316 stainless steel button head screws were manufactured domestically using ASTM A240 spec raw material.  All dimensions and tolerances were to a drawing provided by our customer.  M2.5 X .45 thread was incorporated (cut thread) with thread length set to 8MM.  Head diameter was set to 4.50MM-4.7MM and head height at 1.36MM-1.50MM.  Note that the button head was actually fully machined rather than the typical cold headed operation.  The hex socket drive was broached as a result.  Full certs were provided to our customer per request.
